Justin Klimisch, MD

Justin Klimisch, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgery. He is trained in the latest evidence-based hip and knee surgery techniques. Dr. Klimisch offers minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery utilizing computer navigation which ensures more precise positioning of joint implants. He offers a wide range of solutions for the treatment of hip and knee disorders, ranging from hip and knee injections to arthroscopy, partial knee replacement, and total joint replacement. Dr. Klimisch is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients with hip and knee disorders with the goal of helping each individual attain their highest level of function. He was a consulting surgeon with Smith & Nephew and was involved in the development of new designs, instrumentation, and techniques. He has served as President of the Medical Staff, Chief of Orthopedic Surgery and Chief of the Joint Replacement Program for the HCA hospitals in Corpus Christi. He is currently Chief of the Joint Replacement Program for the Spohn Hospital system in Corpus Christi. He operates at Texas Orthopedic Center of Excellence, Spohn- South hospital, and HCA Doctors Regional Hospital. He is currently recognized by Texas Monthly as a Texas Super Doctor since 2015. He is also recognized as a Top Doc 2023 and featured in the 2023 Faces of the Coastal Bend.

Dr. Klimisch earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, School of Medicine. While in medical school, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and awarded the prestigious George Edward Longshie Scholarship. After finishing medical school, he remained at UT Medical Branch and completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery where he was awarded the Robert K. and Marie B. Hutchings Endowed Scholarship for academic excellence in orthopedic surgery and the Open Growth Plate Award for Pediatric Orthopedic Excellence. Later, Dr. Klimisch completed an accredited fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. There, he trained in primary, complex- primary and revision hip and knee replacement, hip resurfacing, partial knee replacements, hip and knee arthroscopy, computer-assisted surgery, and minimally-invasive hip and knee surgery. After fellowship, Dr. Klimisch was in private practice at the Bone and Joint Center of Seattle and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is currently in private practice at South Texas Bone and Joint in Corpus Christi and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
